If your business is on Twitter, then you’ll understand the importance of timing your tweets. Timing is crucial if you want to get plenty of re-tweets, favourites and comments, not to mention that it can also help you to get maximum publicity from each post.
The time you tweet will vary depending on where your target audience is. Instead of guessing however, you should use a Twitter account tool, which will help you to find your top tweeting hour so you can use this to your advantage. Hootsuite is one of my favourites, not only can it give you the times your followers are most likely to be online. It allows you to schedule your tweets in advance, so you can maintain a consistent schedule at these times regardless of what time of the day or night is best.
Over Tweeting your Posts
Over tweeting can be just as bad as under tweeting, either way you could be really harming your business by doing so. If you tweet continuously in an attempt to get the most feedback, your viewers will get tired and bored. By finding the right time to tweet however, you can reach your target audience at the right time, getting the most engagement without having to post endless tweets. You should also find that this method is very time efficient, as well as allowing you to monitor your feedback easily.
Studies show that most people read blogs in the morning or mid-afternoon; however this doesn’t necessarily mean that this is the best time to tweet your blogs. Many people scroll down their newsfeed when reading tweets, so striking that fine window is crucial.
Listen To Your Viewers
Getting maximum engagement isn’t just about posting your tweets at the right time. You also need to make sure that you are posting about the right subject. Look at the accounts that are re-tweeting and commenting on your posts. By getting to know your viewers, you can then gear your content toward them and their needs. For example, if your content is about computer hardware and it is getting re-tweeted by computer companies, then you are striking the right niche for your audience. If your favourites are coming from virus removal experts however, then you should try and gear your content toward this niche as well. This way, you can reach out to a wider audience with the right posts at the right time.
Tweet Over the Weekend
If you want to receive great feedback on your tweets, then you should make sure that you post at weekends as well as during the week. You do need to take into consideration the change in schedule however. For example, if your audience is more active in the mornings, the same theory cannot be applied at the weekend because people might not be online at the same times.
When you plan your tweeting strategy, make one plan for weekdays and another for weekends. This will give you the highest chance of success, while also helping you to reach your target audience with quality posts.
