Blog Marketing Made Easy: Top Six Strategies

By Dipanjan Mukherjee Published August 1, 2014 Updated October 2, 2022

Do you own a business? Do you have a website for that? These days, if you are planning to make yourself known to your customers, it’s essential to have an online presence. The first step to that is, of course, building a website for your business. However, that is only the beginning. You will need to think beyond that. And for this, it is essential to have different strategies. The aim of all of them will be to bring potential customers to your website.

Thinking about how to do it? You can try out blogging as a primary step. You need to write on interesting topics and post them on a regular basis. However, that’s not all. Marketing the blogs will play a major role in ensuring that your website traffic is increased significantly.

Here’s a look at some of the best ways you can engage in to market your blog.

#1. Target the Right Audience

Targeting is probably the most important thing you need to keep in mind when planning a blog marketing strategy. Who are your target audience? Whom are you writing for? This is going to play a major role in giving the right shape to your content as a whole. Before you start writing the content, make sure the post is designed at the right demographics. There’s no use pitching those who are absolutely not interested in your business. You better target the people whom you can later turn into your customers.

#2. Comment on Others’ Blog Posts

Have you ever thought that commenting on the blog posts written by others will be of any help to you? Maybe you haven’t. But this might sound strange to you that it really helps to a certain extent. And there are enough reasons for this as well. These comments offer you the chance to express your views.

If you wish to engage in conversation with other people on the topic of a certain blog, this is the best way to do that. Thus, it will help to establish your online identity and remain connected with others who pursue similar interests. Thus, when you are writing a blog, you will already have a network with whom you can share your posts.

#3. Unique Content is the King

When you are writing about a certain topic in your blog, it’s quite natural for you to feel attracted towards some well-written content on a similar subject. But wait! That’s not the way. And that is not going to do you any good as well. When any person searches for a topic on the internet, what he wishes to see is original content. In fact, there’s a clear reason behind that as well. Each original content is expected to give the reader a new perspective on a certain subject. Hence, no matter what you do, try to put forward an analytical view of the subject.

#4. Be a Guest Author on Popular Blogs

Guest blogging – this is one of the most important things that you need to do for marketing your blog. Do not remain confined to your own blog only. It is important to let others know that you can write. And write well researched, quality contents. The best way to do this is to post your write ups on other popular blogs. This process, which is popular as guest blogging, will help you establish yourself as a good writer. Hence, people are expected to come to your own blog for this purpose as well.

#5. Be Social on Social Media

Even if you were blogging a decade back, you would not have thought about marketing it on social media. But these days, you just can’t think about any marketing procedure without these platforms. So, go social with your blog as well. Create your profiles on different social media platforms. And manage each of them in different ways.

  • If you are using Facebook, be more of you.
  • But for LinkedIn, you have to be more formal and business-like.
  • And for Twitter, focus on getting your business idea home within the short space and limited characters, which you are allowed to use.

Use different profiles to show a separate you, but focus on marketing your blog as much as you can. Share the posts made on the blogs on a regular basis on these social media platforms. Besides, you need to add social media plugins to ensure that the readers can share the content through their profiles.

#6. Optimize the Blog for Search Engines

Your blog will be of absolutely no help if your potential customers can’t reach it. And the best way to visit the blog will be from the search engine results for some of your relevant keywords. But the best performances will not come without any effort. You will have to optimize your blog in the best way possible, so that it comes towards the top of the search engine results. This will help to increase traffic to your blog, which will, in turn, reflect in the balance sheet at the end of the year.

Great content makes great blogs. But it’s better not to end there and bring more traffic to it. And that is where blog marketing becomes relevant. You need to engage in the right ways to take your blog to the next level.
