Wi-Fi isn’t a distant service these days. It can be said that this facility, which used to be elusive even just a few years back, has become quite common. These days almost every house has Wi-Fi. And there is no doubt that it offers a lot of benefits. In fact, most people use Wi-Fi to perform different mundane functions. A lot of home appliances and other instruments are also run on Wi-Fi these days. So, it is not possible for people to live without Wi-Fi in the present world.

Among many things, Wi-Fi is also being used for live streaming to view different videos over the internet. No matter how simple it may sound, it is a complicated process. It consumes a lot of bandwidth. So, the Wi-Fi connection needs to be perfect when you are planning to watch a video through live streaming.

So, how can you make your Wi-Fi connection perform good enough to give you an excellent experience while watching the live streaming of different videos?

Here are a few tips that might come in handy for you.

#1. Restart the Router

It is never an easy task to mend your Wi-Fi connection. But there are a few steps that are being used for a long time as the solution for slow Wi-Fi connection. And you can surely try one of these age-old techniques for a better experience.

All you need to do is just restart your router or modem. Remember, no electronic device is meant to perform at its best level for a long time. So, you need to use it prudently. Using the modem for a long time means that it will not function properly after it has run for quite a few hours. However, if you restart your modem, its capabilities are sure to be enhanced again and it will run properly again for a few hours. So, you will likely to get Wi-Fi connection at a great speed, which is extremely necessary to enjoy a live streaming over the internet.

#2. Place the Router in the Right Place

Is your router in the right place? That is one of the major questions that you need to ask yourself when you are looking to get an amazing Wi-Fi connection, which can help you view streaming videos. You should keep in mind that the router should not be kept in certain places. For example, it should not be placed:

  • Beside the window
  • Close to a water container
  • Near household electronic appliances
  • Beyond a concrete wall

There are several materials, such as metals and others, which either block the Wi-Fi signal or cause interference. Keeping it at the furthest corner of the house can also cause the Wi-Fi performance to be hampered. And it will surely have a negative impact on your experience of watching a live streaming video. So, if you are looking to watch the a video on the internet through Wi-Fi streaming, it is important to place the router in the perfect position.

#3. Is Another Wi-Fi Device Causing Interference?

Is your Wi-Fi router the only one in your house? Or in your locality? It is one of the most important things that you might need to ask, especially if you are looking to watch a live video. It is extremely important to find out if any other Wi-Fi device is causing any problem. This is because a number of electronic devices, including the routers, are known to cause interference problems with your router.

So, you should place the router in a place where no interference occurs and you have an amazing experience while viewing the videos. Moreover, it is also important to ensure that the channel that your Wi-Fi device is using is not overcrowded. So, you have to make it function properly enough by choosing the right channel.

#4. Using a Wireless Repeater Helps

Heard of wireless repeater? Ever thought of using one for the Wi-Fi network in your house? It can be one of the best ways you can enhance the performance of the Wi-Fi connection inside your home. It will be extremely helpful to let you watch your favorite videos through the Wi-Fi network.

You can purchase a Wi-Fi repeater and install it in a convenient location inside your house. It needs to be placed centrally and not far from the wireless router to ensure that the repeater is able to strengthen the signals of Wi-Fi that the modem is emitting. It will definitely help you get the best Wi-Fi signals, no matter at what corner of the house you are browsing the internet with your Wi-Fi friendly mobile device.

#5. Using a Different Channel can Help

Is the slow connection of your Wi-Fi primarily because you are on an extremely crowded Wi-Fi channel? In fact, it is one of the most common reasons for which Wi-Fi users face such problems. However, you can still solve this problem by changing the Wi-Fi channel.

And that can be done manually as well. All you need to do is type your router’s IP address, which you can get from the rear end of the device. After that, you need to enter your username and password provided by the internet service provider (ISP). Once you do that, you will be prompted to click through the Wi-Fi settings. There you will be able to select the channel that has minimum traffic. It will help you get excellent internet speed even while using the Wi-Fi router.

Are you having problems with the speed of your internet while using it with the help of a Wi-Fi router? You can check the speed by running a ping test. You should also check out if other family members are using the internet offered by the same Wi-Fi router. It can be a major reason behind the slow internet connection. However, using these few steps will surely help you get a better internet connection across the Wi-Fi router. And so, you will be able to enjoy the live streaming of a video much better than before.
