3 of the Best Language Learning Apps Explored

By Adam Published January 14, 2021 Updated October 14, 2022

Online learning has taken the world by storm. During the Coronavirus lockdown, usage of online platforms and Apps have increased exponentially. According to a recent study of E-learning growth and usage by Techjury, The worldwide e-learning market is projected to be worth a staggering $325 Billion in 2025. The study also outlined that E-learning lead to an increase in income for 42% of US organizations.

Techjury also states that five years ago (2015) the mobile learning market value was at roughly $7.98 billion. By the end of 2019, that number had risen to $27.32 billion. ‘Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and the ever-growing number of mobile users worldwide, experts predict that the mobile e-learning market will rise to $37.6 billion by the end of 2020’. The massive growth in E-learning and Application based studies is also due to people not having the time or means to pursue traditional online tutoring.

Do Language Apps Really Work?

The short answer is yes they do. However, this does depend on the time and effort a learner will put into learning but one of the main ideas behind learning via an application is that you can work on it in your own time and potentially spend less time on your lessons. Working at your own pace is extremely helpful but the time needs to be put in.

The year 1992 saw the introduction of focused software known as Rosetta Stone which was a self-sufficient learning platform that users could engage with at any time and in any environment they like. Our study revealed that various employment and job opportunities may require medium to advanced knowledge of foreign languages. Candidates looking for full time or temporary job vacancies may benefit from learning a few additional languages, especially in the support or admin industries.

Let’s explore which language apps are the best to try out:

Optilingo

This App is extremely modern and offers a great user experience on a mobile device. Optilingo focuses on the writing part of new languages rather than the speaking part. You can learn the words and practice them by speaking and incorporating them in language, however, you will be learning to write more than speak. Like most learning apps on the market, Optilingo allows you to learn at your own pace, time, and location. Tracking your progress is also super easy and an effective way to monitor your growth.

Stories on the Go

The beauty of this language app is that its foundation for learning is based on reading and telling stories. Many feel this is extremely effective as children learn and remember the most from stories. If you have little ones of your own, you will find that by reading them bedtime stories or telling them a story, they will retain the information and context far easier.

Mango Languages

If you are on the lookout for unique languages to learn and languages that are only used in a small number of locations in the world, then the Mango Languages App is the one for you. With this App, students are able to select very specific languages which are often seen as less popular to more common languages.

By engaging with the interface, selecting your desired language, learning and practicing hard, and monitoring your progress, you will learn some amazing new languages to use!

Summary

In a world that is dominated by the digital age, the ability to work remotely and utilize advanced technology is now easier than ever. Take advantage of this for your work career growth or personal goals to learn a new language.

Our intended review of Optilingo, Stories on the go, and Mango Languages proved that users can confidently engage with learning apps online and learn simple or complicated foreign languages in their own time and space.
