The “iPad In Business” Seminars: A Great Resource For Small Businesses?

Apple recently started promoting the “iPad in Business” series on its website. The series is essentially a collection of interactive online seminars designed to help brands understand what great value the popular tablet has as a marketing tool.

Participants will be able to engage in Q&A sessions with experts from Apple to learn more about how to use the device to accelerate their business growth. This series of seminars looks to be a phenomenal resource for small businesses that are currently using or considering using the iPad to drive their own operations.

The iPad in the Business World

The iPad is changing the way companies of all sizes do business. From handling video communications to supporting email marketing needs, it is being used in a variety of innovative ways. This little gadget is as diverse as they come, and much of this has to do with the vast pool of apps it is able to handle with ease.

Apps in key areas such as connectivity, productivity, and analytics are literally transforming the way businesses operate in and out of the office. More savvy professionals are discovering that they can develop their own apps on the platform to accommodate specific needs. But the beauty of apps is just one of many discussions Apple experts will be ready to take on with the iPad in Business seminars.

Another factor that makes the iPad such a business-friendly tool is its ability to seamlessly integrate into virtually any existing environment. The device supports a variety of standards and protocols, including CalDAV, CardDAV, and IMAP. It is also compatible with IPSec, SSL VPN, and the latest version of WPA, which come in handy for small businesses who need  to connect wirelessly to private network. Even better is the fact that the iPad is equipped to make these integrations as secure possible. Features such as strong encryption, password protection, and usage policies allow small businesses to obtain a peace of mind.

Aidan – thanks for the information. I’m not YET an iPad owner but see many business associates using them.  Making the iPad for business seminars available to all will help many of us on the fence to decide not when, but how to use the iPad for improved productivity.

    Hi Aidan,
There are many iPad users out there who disagree that the iPad is a business tool. So it’s great to see Apple taking this head on in a pro-active way.
While in London last year, I attended a couple of their sessions in their stores (like these – http://concierge.apple.com/workshops/R092) however, I was very disappointed with the lack of knowledge of the “expert”. He simply wanted to show me the “cool” things, even though both sessions were geared at business users.
I haven’t tried them since, so hopefully these online seminars will be better presented. Did you attend the first one?
