Darragh Doyle of WorldIrish.com Talks To Bloggertone TV

In this month’s interview Bloggertone TV meets Darragh Doyle to discuss a new Irish Online Community called WorldIrish.com. Now it seemed crazy to chat over Skype when we both worked in Dublin .So I ditched my Skype Camera, grabbed my umbrella and hit the mean streets of Dublin (they are not that mean really).

Darragh is the Community Manager of a really exciting start up called WorldIrish.com and would be known by many as one Ireland’s most influential people in the social media world. And what struck me when chatting to him was that he is a genuine person who will always remember a face and will always find time to engage and help his community.  He, unlike some people I have encountered before is the same guy online a he is offline. He is worth following on Twitter – @darraghdoyle.

The purpose of our interview was to discuss the exciting start up that is WorldIrish.com.

So what is WorldIrish.com?

Okay in a nutshell it is a website aimed at mapping, connecting and entertaining Irish people around the world.  An online community for Irish people and those who have any association or interest with Irishness. It is currently at BETA stage and is expected to officially launch in the summer of 2012.

The site seems to have amazing potential in bringing together people from all corners of the globe. It was apparent from talking to Darragh just how powerful bringing together people with shared passions and the same interests can be. I’m really liking the idea and there are some great people behind the site. It’s very much a case of watch this space, this will go far I reckon. :)

    often a great idea needs great people to believe in it and make it successful
    and WorldIrish would appear to have some highly influential people championing
    it on.

    I love this list. I think successful entrepreneurs should always be looking at their business models and their businesses over all as a constantly evolving thing. As the world changes, so do markets and new opportunities will always be presenting themselves.

    Agree, Anika! Sometime we avoid the due diligence because we think it will take too much time. Yet, like Janine pointed out, we might end up second guessing ourselves later. Sometimes what seems to be a good thing turns out to be the opposite when we go back and take a closer look.
