During a recent “Personal Branding” session with a job seeker we were looking at creative ways to get noticed in the marketplace and then it struck me! What if a job seeker created a professional newsletter updating agencies and employers on their latest activities?

Okay it’s competitive out there, lots of talent and not an abundance of jobs. That said, there are jobs and I have noticed more activity in the marketplace that I did in 2009.

Imagine… A theatre production with no rehearsals, a dinner party with no planning or even sitting an exam without studying…

Social Media is now the number 1 activity on the web. Many companies in Ireland are now using LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter to source candidates in the marketplace.

There is no doubt that a CV still has a role to play in job hunting. Are you hiding behing your CV? If so you could be limiting your job hunting initiatives. Make yourself visible and enhance your job hunting.

There is no easy route to sourcing a new job as I believe the harder you work the luckier you get. If you are working hard you may as well work smart. It is time to switch on the lights to see what you are doing!!
