How To Get A Golden Touch Mindset

External stimulation impacts our lives. Whether it’s the weather, our personal relationships or the economy the relationship we have with each of these impacts our lives.

Online business professionals have to deal with additional issues which can have a huge impact on how they go about their business .  Here are three of the big ones:

#1: Chasing Time To Do Everything

It takes a lot of time to do all of the work needed to build online visibility and create a real web presence for a business.

Both small business and big business professionals rapidly turn to learning about productivity to control time more efficiently.

#2: Keeping Up With Technology

It’s no secret, technology moves fast and online businesses feel the pressure of having to keep up.  The continual introduction of new technology creates a strain when taking decisions to invest both time and money over and over again.

There is a sense of losing control when you spend one year learning to use one technology, only to find you need to move on to another one the following year.

#3: Dealing With The Unknown

Most businesses respond to the challenges of managing time and technology by demanding information on “Return On Investment”.  But anyone online knows this is not an easy equation to come up with.

Traditional marketing and new media marketing are measured differently and this increases the lack of control in these unknown areas.

How Loss Of Control Undermines Our Success

This lack or loss of control can quietly undermine how we feel about ourselves and it impacts our mindset. The trouble is that when we feel a lack of control it can impact our lives much more than we image:

  • Self confidence
  • Energy
  • Ability to attract clients

Creating A Golden Touch Mindset

The relationship we have to these external stimulation influences how we respond to them and the response we have is critical to our success. So when we feel we lack control our success depends on addressing this lack of control to come up with a response that contributes to our success.

But it’s not always easy to do when you are busy running a business and doing your job.  And you may need help to adopt the “golden touch mindset” as Gary Barnes refers to it.

Gary Barnes is known as the Traction Coach. He specializes in quickly getting some “sand under your wheels” so you can move forward toward the life you want to live.  And he helps people get a better control on their lives whether it’s from a business, financial or personal standpoint.

Hi Cindy, Phew! #Sugartone definitely taught me that “It takes a lot of time to do all of the work needed to build online visibility” but then when you see the results, you quickly realise that it was effort well spent. Watched Michael Stelzner tell the “Social Media Examiner” story last night. Wow! if there ever was a demonstration of the power of social media for biz, his success puts any doubts to bed. Inspirational stuff!

Hi Cindy, Thanks for the article. One of the things that I have discovered as I have been starting up my business is the cost of investing in technology. Some of that cost is financial, but most of it is time. Lots and lots of time.

Thanks for a great article, illustrating the issues that I have been facing.

By the way, I have been using social media to spread the word about the Sugertone contest and my entry. I’ve been enjoying the feedback on my article. This has been a real learning experience.

Thanks for the opportunity – and thank you to Niall too!

Great article Cindy, As Niall says the biggest investment is time. As the online world is developing so fast it is often difficult to keep up. And often some of the time spent is learning that a particular piece of technology is not right for our business. However if the hard work is put in and you enjoy what you do, you will succeed. – “Many of life’s failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up”. -Thomas Edison

#Sugartoone is a great example of this. Well done to all involved.

I agree with you Greg, well said. I think we’ve all been through the stage of doubting, wondering if the time spent was well worth it; how we could turn everything around if been done differently. :) Time is a valuable asset and I’m glad I’ve spent some time on Bloggertone to take part, meeting people while sharing the articles via social media apps. Imagine the time saved thanks to integrations.

This is a good news for all, Cindy. Appreciate your time and energy spent to promote this contest with Niall, along with everyone’s brilliant effort in Sugartone.

Hi Cindy, It seems like you hit the nail right on the head. Online success is difficult but not impossible. There is so much information out there, it’s nice to see that you provide some very valuable advise. The one thing that I continue to get caught up in is #3 Dealing With The Unknown. It would be easier if it were all laid out step-by-step but then there wouldn’t be any fun learning these things on our own.
