  • Thanks so much for putting this review together Niall. It’s an honour to be involved with Tweak Your Biz and I’m really looking forward to how it develops even further in 2015. Onwards and upwards again 🙂

  • Hi Sian, we’re very lucky to have you at the helm. The website really took off after you became editor! 🙂

  • Flattery gets you everywhere – I did happen to learn from the best 🙂

  • Niall: I will start submitting entries to TweakYourBiz in 2015. If I write an article on e.g., social media and want to link to a blog post, newspaper article, etc., why shouldn’t this be OK? Links is the currency, as you list with the top referrers.

  • Hi Martin, If a link is necessary and adds value to the article as indicated above, that’s still ok. Unfortunately though and particularly as TYB has grown, more and more people are attempting to link build or link to affiliates via TYB content. As a direct result, we are wasting a lot of our time examining, finding and deleting these links.

  • Hi Niall.

It was interesting to see the stats for 2014. I’m relatively new to regularly engaging with this site, but I can see the real value of it.

It has actually been a goal of mine for the past few weeks to submit posts to Tweak Your Biz in 2015, so I may apply soon.

    Nathan.

  • Niall: Thanks for your reply. I understand your challenge with link baits. As a blogger since 2002, I think one of the most important ingredients in a blog post, is a relevant link to an external source. Otherwise it will end up like mainstream media with only plain text…

  • Thanks for collating Niall. I’m thrilled that TYB is growing continuously and is a credit to such a dedicated team. Here’s to a greater 2015 and kudos to you and Sian. Congrats to all the contributors of 2014, I for one have benefited from many of the great posts.

I am putting my goals together for 2015 and one is to come back to regular writing, including TYB. What a team!

  • Thank you Elaine, It will be great to have you back. Best wishes for 2015 (& your french life) 🙂

  • Hi Nathan & thanks for the comment. Looking forward to seeing you as a new contributor in 2015.

  • Very fair points!

  • I write a blog and I read blogs. Links are important and valuable but too many links are a real pain in the rear. Some bloggers hammer in affiliate links and don’t care too much about the quality of the article. There’s a lot of junk out there and I think it’s vital for admins, (not only in TYB) to filter these.

I’m all for making money and getting your stuff out there but some bloggers take it too far..

I wrote on this recently.. http://larrygmaguire.com/is-adding-links-to-blog-posts-turning-your-readers-away/
